Gyula Dudas

1929 - 2015

Gyula Dudas was a Romanian painter, ceramist and sculptor of Hungarian ethnicity. He graduated from the Academy of visual Arts "Ioan Andreescu", Cluj in 1958. His masters were Tibor Kádár, Sándor Mohi. Between 1959 and 1990 he worked as a high school art teacher in Baia Mare while at the same time continuing his career as an artist. Since 1995 he has been a member of the OST-West Forum in Germany and Sweden based Hungarian Fine Arts Association. From 1966 he was an active participant in the Transylvanian (Romania) art scene especially in Baia Mare, a Romanian city that was renowned for its artists since the beginning of the 20th Century. He participated in numerous group and individual exhibitions in Romania, Hungary, Sweden and the Czekoslovakia (Slovakia and the Czech Republic of today).
